The weekend’s change of government offers great opportunities for training and employment in Victoria, says Ujjval Goble of childcare training group Ignite Minds.
“Victoria’s unemployment rate is nearly at 7 per cent, and youth unemployment is 14.5 per cent,” Ujjval said.
“There is a great opportunity now for private RTOs to be a part of an educational renewal in Victoria.”

“Labor has made great promises in Opposition to restore TAFE funding, and to create 100,000 new jobs,” Ujjval said.
“This is very exciting for Victoria, as the state could undergo an educational and employment ‘reset’, with more funding being directed where it’s needed.
“We have all heard of businesses closing nearly every week and employees thrown out of work under the previous government.
“At Ignite Minds we see gaps in the market for qualified family daycare educators every day, and we are training people and helping them walk into immensely rewarding careers.”
He said that many private providers had lower-cost overheads and more flexible delivery models than TAFEs, which made them an attractive option for people seeking training for a career change.
“We look forward to working in a renewed education and training sector to offer people meaningful work,” he said.
